Warren B. Mosler

Co-Founder of III Global Advisors and International Economist

Warren B. Mosler (1949) is a founder and a Principal of AVM, L.P., a U.S. Broker-Dealer. Also, Warren is a founder and principal of III Associates and III Offshore Advisors, the companies which advise the III family of leveraged investment funds. These funds have approximately $1 billion of investor capital and employ a market neutral, zero duration strategy. 

Warren holds a BA in Economics from the University of Connecticut (1971).  Prior to starting his own companies in 1982, he spent about 10 years trading fixed income securities for Manchester Savings Bank, Bache & Co.,  Bankers Trust and William Blair & Co.

He is currently a director and majority shareholder of Enterprise National Bank, Systems and Services Technologies, and Consulier Engineering. He also founded and is affiliated with the Center for Full Employment and Price Stability at the University of Missouri at Kansas City.

Warren frequently writes and speaks on macro economics, monetary policy and money. He is the author of Soft Currency Economics, West Palm Beach, 1994 and numerous other papers.

Henry Da-Cheng Lee

Managing Director of Hendale Group

Mr. Lee has over fifteen years of experience and track record in the field of financial advisory, investment management and corporate finance. Prior to forming Hendale, he was a principal in the investment operation of the Bass Brothers in Texas. At Bass, Henry specialized in mezzanine investments, relationship investing, hedge fund strategies and risk arbitrage.

Henry Lee is a graduate of the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and has worked in the Mergers and Acquisitions Group at CS First Boston, with focus on privatizations, leveraged finance, takeovers and divestitures. He has also worked at Chase Bank in Tokyo and New York and with Kamsky Associates in Beijing. Henry is a frequent speaker at global and regional conferences and commentator on various issues with local and international media.

Throughout his career, his clients have included governments, large corporations and private companies. He contacts within the Greater China region and beyond is unparalled from years of being active as a banker, investor and financial advisor.

Simon Hopkins

Over 14 years experience in European investment banking

Simon Hopkins has over 14 years experience in the European investment banking world. Having started a successful career as an institutional stockbroker with S.G. Warburg & Co. in 1986, he went on to spend over six years as a French equity market specialist in Paris, first with HSBC James Capel before joining Nomura France in 1994 to build an equity sales and research arm for the Japanese giant.

Simon Hopkins conceived Fortune's business model in 1996 after a successful ten year career in investment banking. With a broad knowledge of European investors, he brings a deep understanding of the driving forces of fund investing to the Fortune Asset Management team. He sits on the board of the highly regarded web-based fund research group Global Fund Analysis which he co-founded in 1999. Simon is a regular commentator on fund industry topics in the financial press. He graduated with honours from the University of Bristol's Faculty of Law.

James Shipton

Director of Advisory Services

James Shipton is Director of Advisory Services at Eurekahedge and works structuring and executing Eurekaâs third party marketing business in Asia and Europe.

Prior to joining Eurekahedge James was a Vice President in Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein's Equity Capital Markets division in London specializing in private and public capital market offers, transaction execution and deal management. Before his position in London James was Dresdnerâs Head of Transaction Management in Asia and specialized in the execution of private and public offers. Prior to Dresdner, James practiced funds, corporate & securities law with Linklaters in Hong Kong and Bangkok. James is a qualified solicitor in Hong Kong, England and Australia and has been predominantly based in Asia since 1993.

Jack Schwager

Managing Member of Market Wizards Funds

Jack Schwager is currently the Managing Member of Market Wizards Funds, managed by Fortune Asset Management and co-advised by Global Fund Analysis. His prior experience includes 22 years as the director of futures research for some of Wall Street's leading firms.

Mr. Schwager is one of the leading authorities in the US on hedge fund investing and the author of the best-selling Market Wizards (1989), and the equally popular The New Market Wizards (1992). A third volume in this series, Stock Market Wizards, published by HarperCollins, was released in January 2001. His other books include Getting Started in Technical Analysis (1999) and a three-volume series, Schwager on Futures, consisting of the following titles: Fundamental Analysis (1995), Technical Analysis (1996), and Managed Trading: Myths and Truths (1996). Schwager is credited with discovering some of greatest names in the hedge fund industry.

Raymond Hood

Managing Director, Asian Direct Capital Management

Mr. Hood is the Managing Director of Asian Direct Capital Management (ADCM) in Hong Kong, the Asian private equity affiliate of State Street Global Advisors. ADCM specializes in making influential financial investments in and on re-structuring Asian companies. Established in 1997, ADCM is currently managing funds in Korea, Thailand and China.
Mr. Hood has lived in Asia since 1986 and has over 10 years of private equity experience in all the region’s key markets. Prior to entering into the private equity market, he has gained extensive management experience in working with Unilever PLC and Grand Metropolitan PLC. He has also held senior investment posts with James Capel, IFINT and Rothschild Asset Management.

Mr. Hood holds a B.A. in Economics and Politics from the University of Durham and an MBA from the London Business School.

Dr. Peter John Brimble

President, Brooker Policy Research Company Limited

The Brooker Group Public Company Limited provides a wide range of business and policy research services to the public and private sectors in Thailand and East Asia. Peter Brimble has worked extensively in East Asia on industrial efficiency, investment promotion, economics and public policy issues. He has carried out research on industrial and technological development and government policy issues in Thailand and the region - working for various agencies, including the Asian Development Bank, Harvard Institute for International Development, the United Nations, the Thai Board of Investment and many other Thai government agencies/institutions. He has assisted a number of multinationals with corporate strategy work. In the past decade, Peter has worked extensively on trade, investment and business development issues in the Greater Mekong Subregion, both for multilaterals like the ADB and the United Nations and for private firms. He was instrumental in the establishment of the GMS Business Forum, a recently formed association of GMS chambers of commerce and industry.

Peter is an Economics graduate of the London School of Economics, Georgetown University, the University of Sussex, and Johns Hopkins University. His Ph.D. thesis examined the productivity performance of Thai manufacturing firms.

Peter Douglas

Managing Director, Investor Select Advisors

Peter Douglas has 18 years experience in the investment management industry, gained in London, Singapore, Sydney and Tokyo. He is Managing Director, Asia ex-Japan, and Managing Director, Australia, of Investor Select Advisors, a global fund of funds advisor with professionals based in Hong Kong, London, Singapore, Sydney, Tokyo, and New York. Investor Select Advisors specialises in working with institutions and distributors to build allocation strategies within a disciplined and rigorous process. Peter has responsibility for research and allocation to hedge funds investing into Asia.
He is also principal of GFIA Pte Ltd, a consulting firm that works with the investment management industry in Asia developing business strategy.

He is the council member for Singapore, and a director, of the Alternative Investment Management Association, the global industry body for hedge fund professionals. He was the founding honorary secretary of the Financial Planning Association of Singapore and remains special advisor to the association. He is also a committee member and former secretary of the INSEAD Club of Singapore. Peter holds an honours degree in Medieval Studies from the University of Exeter, U.K., an Investment Management Certificate from I.I.M.R. in the U.K., and a Masters in Business Administration from INSEAD in France. He is a competitive triathlete.

Pierre-Emmanuel Juillard

Head of Securitisation and Structured Credit, AXA Investment Managers

Pierre-Emmanuel joined AXA Investment Managers in March 1999. He currently heads the securitisation and Structured Credit team.The team is responsible for structuring and co-managing Collateralised Debt Obloigation transactions, sponsored by AXA Investment Managers and is also responsible for investing in sub-investment grade tranches of CDOs. Previously, Pierre-Emmanuel spent three years as a senior derivative specialist with Chase Manhattan Bank in London and Aurel in Paris. Prior to that , he worked for three years at Paribas Capital Markets in London as a senior quantitative researcher. He is a former student of ENSAE and ISUP , with a major in stochastic modelling and statistics.

Glen Lau Lian Seng

Head of Structured Finance and Alternative Investments, Chinkara Capital

Glen joined Chinkara Capital June 2000. He currently heads up the Structured Finance and Alternative Investments team. The team is responsible for structuring, engineering and investing into Alternative Investments assets ranging from CDOs , Hedge Funds Real Estate and Private Equity Investments. Previously, Glen spent 5 years in UBS PaineWebber as a Structured Note Specialist involved in the syndication of Asian led CDO transactions. Prior to that he was in Capital Markets sales specialist in Dresdner Bank and Union Bank of Switzerland. Glen started his career with the Development Bank of Singapore where he stayed for four years managing the fixed Income assets of the bank.Glen holds a MSc in Financial Engineering and is a former student of the National University of Singapore, with majors in Econometrics and Mathematics.
